Rudedog,
HI!!

RE: DELL is doing foundation level work to approach that market - storage, server management, high density web servers. But the fruits of that effort for DELL in competition with SUNW are years out. Also, IBM is tightly focused on attacking SUNW with their own high end products, the S80 / AIX, the AS400, and even their mainframe products.

Almost verbatim to what much of the discussions were about...Of course you won't hear me quoting the "tech symbols" :o)....But, accurately put...We were talking years out...and, I'm sure you know that is where I focus my interest on....Yet, I believe DELL will move into these areas much more rapidly than most expect...ML has recently written to their clients and made strong notice that they expect the stock to climb as early as this Fall due to the in roads DELL will be making into SUNW....They also mention that the latest scenario as being early next year...

Best, Kemble

Rudedog-I certainly respect your inside industry knowledge but as a friendly adversarial comment -DELL seems to conquer new markets within incredably short periods of time.-,i.e. SUNW and EMC.
