Yaacov. In a case like this the Judge hands down a verdict or a remedy and then it will go thru channels. Appellate Court and up to the Supreme Court. This can take years. In our system you can try to bypass this channel process and go right away to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court can take the case or send it back and tell the petitioner to go thru channels.

The Judge cannot enforce certain remedies, like a break up, without an appeal but he can come down with certain immediate decisions.

I don't know if you ever followed Intel's cases when they had decisions against them by Judges and had to abide by them until a diff. ruling came down from the Appellate Court. Our system is not exactly clear cut. Plenty room for juggling until it gets to the Supreme Court.

Yes. In criminal cases you will go to jail if convicted by a Judge or Jury. Then you appeal.

You will learn more by reading some of the articles always posted on the net about the Msft case. I am not an expert in law, just try to keep up. You could have learned a lot about appeals in the investigation of our President.

Speaking of our President. He took credit today for causing havoc in the markets a while back with his statements about the Human Genome stuff. He said today: Mr. Blair and I did not mean to do that.
Investors lost a fortune by that speech. He clarified certain things today and as you can see the bio techs are waking up again at this time.

The day after Mr. Clinton and Mr. Blair made those statements and the bios had crashed, he said: I did not cause this.

Um. I probably missed Greenspan's speech now.
