Some unverifiable Spitfire and TBird benchmarks on JC's:
At 600 MHz, engineering samples, not clock locked.

CPUMARK
THUNDERBIRD 69.3
SPITFIRE 61.9
K7 512K 56.3
PIII 256K 55.7
PIII 512K 44.3
CELERON SSE (FSB 66MHZ) 41.6
CELERON SSE (FSB 100MHZ) 48.2

When overclocked to 850, the TBird is above 100, a new
record. The only thing a little worrisome is the MHz rating,
a trifle low even for an ES?

For some reason I think what Jerry said was a slip of the tongue. Why would AMD pre-announce so late in the Q, one week before earnings come out, and in Japan during a press conference of all places?

Cirruslver

I think he had to preannounce....Q1 nos are in and they are much better than what he preannounced 2 mos ago...if he didn't preannounce again, the street would not have been happy.....and he has enough trouble already with the street.
