roddy, you are talking about one piece of a pie. the majority of the pie is microsoft. we probably have different views. my view is that if you eliminated all msft products - all of them - from the face of the earth then the net w/b much less popular.

if i remember the original post, the issue was "technology companies" and not "isps" or "server companies." every tech company i have ever worked for had info tech based on msft.

what % of tech companies base their it off of msft?

i don't like msft (though visual basic was truly a neat invention) and they are losing some important segments of the market. but they still own the "technology company" market, for all intents and purposes.
