Olu: When the naz hit -575 my mind froze. BTW, brace yourself for some rough weather. If you caught the AG speech, it is the perfect set-up for a bad reaction to Friday's employment data -- which could be a real shocker. Good luck.

Yes, its easy to say, but can you think straight when the Naz is down 13% (and your portfolio is down 15% in 2 days)?

Olu, I can honestly say that I was not stressed by that (though such a pullback does make me a little antsy to buy shares, especially when I have no cash in the MM account). I'm happy with the companies I own, and if they can continue to grow (which I think they will), the share prices will take care of themselves over time. In general, it would take much larger down moves to bring share prices below average cost bases for stocks purchased in the past several years. I've been buying stocks only for about three or four years, so many "long term" investors are even better "cushioned" by the time that's already passed for them (and the (presumed) corresponding appreciation in their holdings). I am optimistic.
