Dell Computer (DELL; $53 ?; B-1-1-9)
00E $0.90; 02E $1.15
? The company just held a press conference in New York and we would like to highlight a
few comments.
? Michael Dell confirmed that corporate spending returned to more normalized spending
beginning in February. The spending has been accelerating as the quarter unfolds
offering renewed confidence in the April quarter.
? The company also announced the introduction of PowerApp Appliance servers, which
are low cost with price points typically under $2,000. The new servers dedicated
function is to specific server appliances such as web serving, caching and load balancing.
We feel that these servers are complimentary to Dell?s higher end PowerEdge servers
and PowerVault storage apps.
? These new products help to round out DELL's product offerings in hardware offering in
small and medium sized businesses, ISP, ASP and web hosting companies.
? DELL also announced a renewed focus on further penetrating the ISPs, ASPs and web
hosting companies. On that note, DELL just won Exodus as customer on the web hosting
side.
? There is an analyst meeting in New York tomorrow.
