MVIS To Present at the Flat Panel Conference

Investors Conference to Address Corporate Strategies in Fast-growing Flat Panel Display Industry; Co-sponsored by USDC and Needham & Co., conference slated for May 2 in New York

SAN JOSE, Calif., Apr 5, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --

The U.S. Display Consortium, a public/private partnership chartered with developing the flat panel display (FPD) infrastructure, today announced that the Fifth Annual USDC Investors Conference will be held on May 2, 2000 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Co-sponsored with investment banker and brokerage firm Needham & Co.,the one-day conference will feature executives from 22 publicly traded and privately held companies who will discuss corporate strategies for the rapidly growing FPD market.

The conference will kick off with an opening presentation by Kam Law, Ph.D., president of AKT Inc., a division of Applied Materials Company (Nasdaq: AMAT), followed by company presentations and a panel session on corporate partnering and investing in the display industry.

Panel session speakers include executives from Intel Corp. (Nasdaq: INTC), DuPont Corp. (NYSE: DD) and Three-Five Systems (NYSE:TFS). "The Investors Conference is staged annually by USDC and Needham & Co. to provide the investment community with an update on selected companies who compete in the FPD industry. Many of the companies who
are presenting at this year's conference have recorded stellar growth in the past 12 months," observed Jeff Buchanan, chairman of the USDC and executive vice president and CFO of Three-Five Systems, a display and module manufacturer located in Tempe, Ariz. "Displays are the face
