I've been saying that the Administration is going to make darn sure that the market is looking rosy and the general population is feeling great about the economy in order for Gore to have a chance at election. Rich: It's a plausible scenario. My wife was at the SEC in Oct. 1987, and I know there was a lot of behind-the-scenes scurrying to stop the bleeding. What happened yesterday can't be explained only by the buy-the-dip phenomenon. I've been known to buy the dip occasionally, and what I was feeling yesterday was that the Big K had just hit.
