You seem to think that price movement is equivalent to beauty pageantry. If you bribe the judges then any old ugly can win. Perception/expectation is key with any stock. Take a company that you are very familiar with, ATHM. Here is a stock that soared until it was hit with talk that ruined it's rep. Now, you have the exact same company trading at 28 instead of 198. What has changed? The perception about it's future. Looks like you've been "NAZZED". Have been told that I have never seen a bear...but being described as being "NAZZED" is definitely a first. What you stated proves why I used the term "economic pseudo-intellectual". You are talking through your hat. Label me as you wish. Tell me, stock broker, do you think this is what is happening in TSEM? Do you think TSEM went from 10 to 40 due to institutional orders? You're a stock broker so tells us what you think the degree of institutional sponsorship is in this company. Never claimed that I had such info, nor that I am stockbroker...I could be a MSDW secretary or mail room boy...just happen to be employed by MSDW. The effects that I mentioned are based on levels *after* initiation. Real-time institutional ownership quotes have yet to be invented. :-) And if there were such a service, a broker would have to charge you for such cutting edge info. LOL. tell me what institution "plugs" any stock to their customer base. They'll divulge their portfolios through proper channels most often way after the fact and that is it. To go anywhere beyond that is a violation of various rules and threatens liability. An institution which even mentions a company to a customer can be sued if that customer operates on that information and loses. Obviously, a broker does not plug a company until after it initiates coverage. In addition, most brokerages forbid a broker from recommending any stock that that firm does not have coverage on. This is precisely my point, once a host of big balled firms initiate a company that company gains a shield of imperviousness that gives comfort to the weak and may, or may not lead them onto the next AMAT, INTC, or MSFT. I cannot count how many people I have come across, both hi net worth and those with $200 to their name, that have to be pulled away from the "Yeah but, XYZ has 4 strong buys on it...so why shouldn't I invest?" mentality. This is the power of being the the most beautiful in the pageant...you get the benefit of the doubt of the small investor when they see that the institutions are clapping. This phenomenon cannot be ignored.
