Nikkei down midday, profit-taking hits Old Japan
TOKYO, April 6 (Reuters) - Tokyo's benchmark Nikkei stock average ended the morning weaker on Thursday as high-tech heavyweights failed to wipe off their bearish mood despite a recovery in the tech-driven Nasdaq (^IXIC - news).

Many of ``Old Japan' stocks which had enjoyed healthy gains in the past week fell on Thursday, hit by profit-taking and further weighing on overall sentiment, traders said.
