Watching 65 On Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Advanced Micro Devices (AMD - 67-13/16) announced this morning that it expects that first-quarter sales will exceed $1 billion. In addition, a major brokerage firm came out this afternoon and made bullish comments on the chip industry, lifting AMD shares higher. As you can see in the chart below, the stock rallied to new highs this morning to 67-1/2, where it then stalled out and finally pulled back to exactly the 65 level before its launch to new highs. This test of the 65 level came around 1:00 p.m. EST. Around 1:30 p.m., options players began to place bets that the stock can?t make its way higher, as they dipped into the April 65 put. Currently, the volume at that strike is at 2,193 contracts on open interest of a mere 132 contracts. This is one of the most-active puts on the CBOE. On the flip side, the volume on the April 70 call is also starting to accumulate, as the volume has now reached 1,959 contracts on open interest of 2,612 contracts. This test of intraday support, in addition to put activity at the 65 strike, adds to the significance of 65 being a level of support. Currently AMD shares are trading close to their new intraday high of 69-3/16. It will be important to see how these open-interest adjustments play out tomorrow morning.

Hehe, you don't want to retire you'll get bored ;) On the other hand, it's a hell of a lot more fun working when you don't need to take your wages into consideration. (I got a job programming at a place with extremely flexible hours, volleyball at lunch daily, no dress code, and a very low amount of stress). I'm one of the few people who actually look forward to work everyday ;)

I retire at $250, a millionaire. $500 would be icing on the cake, I would be a multi-millionaire.

Honestly, I will be amazed if I can retire at age 23 with only about 1 year in the "real world".

The more I study AMD, the more I think this is possible though.

They must still serve those crazy mushrooms in the IBM cafeteria.
