Binx, What I am trying to say...

...is that I believe SanDisk's position is to sit down with its competitors and discuss reasonable royalty fees in recognition of the body of work that SanDisk created to make the CompactFlash card a reality. Only after these talks break down do they have to resort to either offensive attacks (such as those against Lexar) or defensive legal manuevers (such as those against Mitsubishi).

What people seem to be neglecting is that SanDisk is a compact, little powerhouse in a land of industry giants. It is sort of like a welterweight trying to go up against a series of super-heavyweights all on one card.

In 1996 SanDisk risked the business trying to get the CompactFlash standard adopted. Now it is time that others who have been riding behind SanDisk's wake take out a paddle and start rowing.

As another analogy, SanDisk designed and built the entire New Jersey Turnpike and now people are complaining because they put up a little toll booth. And if you aren't willing to cough up the 50½ toll you may have to get off the turnpike in Patterson.
