I just read this board for the first time ever. Why? Because I'm very close to closing my account with mytrack...wanted to see if the comments here are as bad as the ones on SI...take a gander at the last couple hundred posts and you will see what I mean. You asked about customer service, horror stories, etc...? Subject 14966
Let me give you a customer's perspective, I am not short or long. I have never owned a share in my life. I don't bash stocks, I hope TRAC goes to the moon, especially since that might help me get my rebate for March ( want to make sure they've kept enough money for me ) However, I am a customer and I am an active trader ( usually 30-60 trades a day )
I got into mytrack by word of mouth...in fact, most of those guys complaining on the SI board are the ones who influenced me to do so...That was back when mytrack hadn't turned in to a complete disaster.
Let me give you a nearly typical day for me now. Of course, some days are better than others, but as of late, this has been the norm:
First thing I try and log in to my account...this usually takes several tries. Then, as was the case this morning, I can not pull up any positions in my account. Finally, after re-logging on 4 times, it worked. I trade with several other people who use mytrack and I know this was happening to them also.
Next, I realize that my charts and news are down...I can't even see the news, can't pull up any info that would help me trade. hmmmmmm I go to channel 9 and of course it's the usual war - everyone wanting to know why nothing is working and the hosts saying that "everything is okay"
Then I try and make some trades. Woops, can't do that, none of the orders are showing up in mytrade. They just disappear! Is this a new problem? nope, been happening all week...I go back to channel 9, good to see it's not just me and my trading buddies : )
So there I sit for a couple hours, can't buy, can't sell, can't do what I do for a living. The host in channel 3 says to give him a confirmation # and he'll check it out. Can't do that because there is no confirmation, I have no idea if my orders even exist...So, I get the usual comment, "call in and speak with a broker" ROTFLOL...anyone who has ever tried to call in knows what I mean. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I MEAN, JUST TRY CALLING 1-800-MYTRACK...if you get lucky and it is after hours and there are very few problems, you might get in within 30 minutes...during the day? depends 45-60 minutes, sometimes much much more...
Kinda hard to get a trade confirmation when you can't reach a human for an hour and the stock is long gone...hmmmm
Then the orders start working finally...yippee (of course, I've lost money by not being able to sell for the last 2 hours)
But now the confirmations are delayed. I go to channel 3 to have them check on an order but there are so many people screaming and so many people in line that I give up...you see, a ton of other people are in the same boat, some of them losing thousands of dollars a minute and we can't call in because after 2 years they still haven't hired 1/2 the number of customer service people they need.
But it will get better, they keep telling me...In the mean time, I have now effectively shorted a bulletin board stock because mytrack had a computer glitch that sent out a sell order twice...not a problem? well let's see, I've now called 3 times and sent 6 e-mails and they have not fixed the problem...oh well, that is okay, after-all, I can't even withdraw any money from my account till they do...my wife is real happy with that one. After everyone from mytrack agrees that it was their fault and it should have been and will be fixed ASAP - nothing happens. Then tonight, I get this e-mail from them:
I'm responding to your e-mail concerning ARYN. I researched your account and it is correct. Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you have any further questions please contact us at 1-800-MYTRACK.
WHAT? MY ACCOUNT IS ALL SCREWED UP AND "IT IS CORRECT"???? Needless to say, this is just the beginning and I expect to spend a few more hours to tackle this "problem"
The posters here who are long are either going to call me a liar or call me short...I'm neither. Nobody wants mytrack to get it's act together more than I. Thankfully, I've had great success with my trading through mytrack in spite of all of their daily problems and horrific customer service...but it could have been so much better. I won't even go in to the amazingly stupid rules that have made it nearly impossible to daytrade with mytrack, but you asked about customer service...and I think the more you look around, the more you will realize that my case is the norm, not the exception...VERY, VERY SAD.
MAYBE THEY CANNOT CONTROL ALL THE MELTDOWNS WE HAVE EACH DAY WITH THE SOFTWARE, BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE INDEED CAN BE CONTROLLED AND THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER SEEN BY ANY COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH IN ANY FIELD OF BUSINESS...

btw, I also have an account with Scottsdale Securities; not as quick on the executions ( some days ) but I can always speak to a human within 30 seconds... I am in the process of opening up another account to give me more options when mytrack becomes unworkable : ( |
