Regarding Yahoo and earnings:

<<Much of the company's recent growth comes from its aggressive efforts to grow overseas. In Japan alone, it now has 14 million users, and its total global audience now numbers 145 million. During the latest quarter, it launched a site in Argentina, adding it to 21 other country-specific sites.

Yahoo Chief Executive Tim Koogle said in the conference call that much of the company's plans for future growth would involve distributing its content in wireless devices that enable consumers to connect to the Internet any time and anywhere.

Company officials acknowledged this shift to the wireless world will require it to retool its business model, which to date has been built around advertising and other promotions tailored for the PC. >>
