Hey, you guys, listen. I worked for a week to convince my beautiful wife that a weekend with the boys would be a good thing. Now Merlin posts this wide-fricking-open invitation to every gorilla, king, monkey, chimp, prince, serf on SI, including their girlfriends, wives, husbands, dogs, cats, and houseboys. Getting a kitchen pass has suddenly become verrrrry difficult. Do I say, "Oh, Mike was kidding. You know Mike; he's such a kidder.".. Harrumph. Hardly a credible statement. (She knows Mike, and he ain't a kidder!) I was surprised at that too. This thing went from Mike in the role of primary deprogrammer in that dingy motel room without the cable (while we were "on call" at Caesars) to Mike inviting the rest of the world. Tell your wife that Mike's invitation was just a cover to lure monkeyboy, that his recent return to the fold is an incomplete sham, and that in reality it is going to be a weekend of drudgery and hard work. Yeah, that's it. And what about Mike's statement that the weekend won't be a tax writeoff! Obviously, he doesn't have my accountant! Dr. Id
