I used marijuana and hallucinogens for years with no discernable ill effects. I only stopped after having children; drugs and parenthood are not a good combination. I know quite a few people, mostly friends and acquaintances from the old days, who still use them; most are quite successful and generally acknowledged as smart. This is not about dopers and alcoholics. It's about the people who uses and enjoy dope and alcohol without being controlled by them. I don't think it's fair to ban all booze because some people can't handle their drink, and I think the same logic applies with many drugs.
