Hi Red!

I just got home. Sorry for the late reply.

I'm not very polished on Biotech other than CRA and a few others.

The one thing I really like about Luminex Corporation (the company you asked me about) is that they appear to be a biotech "Pick and Shovel" company.
This is the reason I like CRA so much. Companies who can help serve the cure seekers speed through the race course will do well.

If these Biotech Service Providers have some sort of patent, huge jump, or an outstanding product to sell, I believe they will do fine.
Much of the Biotech valuations will be determined upon the "Hype Factor". Similar to the internet hayday & the high tech hayday we are in now, the companies who have a nice story that investors can sink their teeth into will fly.

Many people tell me that traders and investors will be searching for the high tech leaders who are showing earnings.
I agree with this. However, I strongly believe that many investors will continue to ride the wild fluctuations of stocks that have a fuzzy picture of incredible earning potential.
Right now, many of these fuzzy companies are the biotechs. They are still probably too early to get caught up in a whirlwind.
There are some early indications as to who these leaders are. These leaders still have a very small market cap.
I beleive some of these leaders will grow as much or even more than some of the Gorilla candidates. This is why I can not ignor this sector.

It is really eating me up that I sold CRA during the crash at 57. Today I tried to get back in but they were so far long gone.

I did make some money though. When I saw the Biotechs running up in premarket, I jumped on PDLI.
Greg The Frenchmen had mentioned them on his Home on the Range thread. When I saw their huge gap they left a few weeks ago in the $120, I figured they would be making a run to close that hole.
It came close. They up 30 - 40 points today if you include afterhours. They may close the gap tonight or in the morning...

It feels good to make some money again. Man, I sure have a lot of catching up to do.

Anyhow, I'll check your Luminex some more.
Thanks for making us aware of them.

Red,

I saw Luminex's CEO on CNBC this morning. It should be a very hot IPO in the wake of CRA's news yeaterday about the completion of the sequencing of the Human Genome.

Right now I'm holding PDLI and HGSI for a short ride.
The biotech charts look fantastic. Money is pouring into the sector.

With the barrage of Biotech IPO's this week and through out the month, it's possible they run up some more.

I'll be looking for Luminex's IPO to hit this afternoon. Should rocket...
JMHO
