You can never be prepared for a market meltdown. I've lived in earthquake country for 20 years, but each shaker catches me totally off guard.

Since you're new to investing, I hope you've noted that,

Great companies get rocked right along with the weak ones in a correction, but they recover faster.
For a LT investor, the best thing to do in a correction is nothing.
