I don't buy into the theory that whisper numbers affect the stock price. At least not in the long term. So here is my whisper number....shhhh. 15 cents....shhhhh

They official guesstimate is 11 right here on SI's EPS for GNET. I think they will beat that number. What will really determine if they rise on earnings is the amount that is attributed to investment.

2 quarters ago it was 2/3rds of the total earnings. Last quarter it was about half. If this quarter it is a 4th or lower we should be on an upswing.

Rampmaster, HO-MEE knows all about this whisper stuff and I am telling you that there is NOT an analyst in the world that would have an estimate and a whisper # that would be sooooooooo different. Greg S. is just misinformed, don't take it out on him, he thinks he is right, just leave it alone.

I think you are wrong! Analysts don't throw numbers like .24 around. This whisper number is not a game to them and I am very confident a analysts that covers a company would never be sooooooo reckless.

You're entitled to your opinion. I think it's possible that an analyst would spit out a hush-hush number like that given Go2Net's stellar record. But I only have one website to cite as a source, and not a compelling one at that. <shrug> Draw your own conclusions.

It is a shame that people like you get caught in the cross fire of real expectations and this new game of whispers.

I'm just relaying information. Like I said, I personally doubt Go2Net will hit 0.24 this quarter, but I think it is possible. Apparently someone else thinks it is possible too. I personally would put my "whisper number" only a couple of cents above consensus estimates. I think there is potential for even further upside surprise, but it should be just that - a surprise.
