Extended Systems Expands Business Alliance Relationship with Citrix
Establishes Compatibility Between ExtendNet 4000 Internet Appliance and Citrix MetaFrame(TM) Application Server Software
BOISE, Idaho--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 6, 2000-- Extended Systems (Nasdaq:XTND - news) announced today that it has expanded its membership in the Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS - news) Business Alliance (CBA) program with established compatibility between the ExtendNet 4000 Internet appliance and Citrix MetaFrame (TM) application server software.

As a CBA Premier member, Extended Systems will now work with Citrix to promote the ExtendNet 4000 with the Citrix MetaFrame product.

Targeted at small to medium-sized businesses, the ExtendNet 4000 is an Internet appliance that is a multi-use, all-in-one Internet business solution which provides everything small businesses need to reap the benefits of the Internet. These features include secure Internet connectivity with full firewall, web server and e-mail hosting, and web proxy services.

The ExtendNet 4000 provides remote offices using the Citrix Independent Computing Architecture (ICA(TM)) or SecureICA client with an easy way to access the Citrix MetaFrame server through the Internet. By placing the ExtendNet 4000 on its network, a branch office location can obtain simultaneous Internet access with built-in security features.

The ExtendNet 4000 can also be placed at the Citrix Metaframe server site. In this scenario, a firewall management feature of the ExtendNet 4000 allows administrators to easily enable remote Citrix ICA clients to access the MetaFrame server via the Internet with a minimum of security exposure.

Pricing and Availability

The ExtendNet 4000 is currently available. Product list pricing ranges from $2,599 to $2,799. For more information about the announcement, contact Amy Childress, Extended Systems Internet Products Specialist, at 800/235-7576.
