IBM and MSFT are two different things. Research one level down and you will find business momentum; company fundamentals, management are vastly different.

The most likely outcome in MSFT case is:

Goes through appellate court. There MSFT wins. Or MSFT settles the case in late 2001 at the tail end of the appellate process with a different govt. in Washington.

The next likely scenario is:

Goes to appellate court. Then goes to supreme court. There either MSFT wins or MSFT settles in 2002 prior supreme court verdict.

Again save this if you wish.

You do recall IBM going from 175 down to 40 about 10 years ago, don't you?

James:

Interesting, my remembrance of the IBM stock drop in 1987 was because of Microsoft. That does not mean that any stock cannot go down, but that is an interesting example in this case.
