I would say your logic has won the day. It's seems that the NASDAQ took all the fluff out while Dell was putting all the fluff in so now they are paying for it! Stock goes to $45 before it becomes a buy again.

It's annoyances like this that will make the market test those lows of Tuesday again.

i guess your fluffettes still consider the pc business a model of frequent fluffers.

this is really getting old. go sell Sunw for a change, dell's server sales continue to outstrip competitors

I don't think the press releases and news reports explain very well what Dell is trying to do with e-commerce. They're probably scratching their heads and asking "What does that have to do with average selling price of PCs?". Dell needs to clarify.

<<< a lot of good news coming out of the meeting today>>>
Thats true -Dell moving strongly out of the box. But where is the "WOW"? Analysts are not going to get that Wow
stuff in a meeting. If Dell said they could beat by 3, the stock would zoom to 68, whispers would go to 20 cents and Dell would miss, and many nameless companies would enjoy that.
IMO an attempt is made to keep the stock price from getting out of hand, decrease the volatility, and save some surprise for the earnings report.
The quarter isnt done, Dell cannot say for sure what earnings will be. Earthquakes happen. The analysts will
will take the credit if they happen to make the right call.
I would trust D. Niles to do the best estimating on Dell.
