Computer and chip makers were up on NYSE as well. Compaq Computer Corp. (CPQ)
gained 1.19 to 29.06, being the second most traded stock on the exchange. The
rise is due to news that Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has
recently invested $1 billion in technology stocks - $400 million of which were
in CPQ shares. Although not in the prince's portfolio, Advanced Micro Devices
Inc. (AMD) gained 3.25 to 71.62. Yesterday, AMD's shares rose more than 10% to a
new 52-week high, after the company said it expects first-quarter sales to top
$1 billion.

Niceguy,

If we let the stock go up too fast then it will be harder to pass Intel on the number of all time highs this year.

Your objective should be to cheerlead AMD into a gentle $1 gain each day for the next 100 trading days.

OK?

Niceguy...re:Save that $75 for another day!(Sure hope Paul is keeping tally!) I'm going to go back and count the new highs in the next few days for when he does reappear.

Do you ever wonder if Paul was actually an investor in AMD? Seems to me he would still be gloating about the AMDroids driving the price to absurd levels and making him richer.
Something to ponder.
