Tenchusatsu,

Just because AMD is flying high doesn't mean you should be accusing Intel of lying about yields.

Looking at PriceWatch, it looks like the availability of 800 MHz PIII has improved to the point when you can say it's widely available. 850 and 866 are beginning to show up.

On AMD side, 900 has the same / slightly better availability as Piii 800 and 866 while 950 and 1GHz are showing 2-3 entries.

To maintain leadership, AMD has to release Spitfire / Thunderbird in April / May. Otherwise, Intel will be back to their old arm-twisting tricks, and new accounts will be harder to win.

Joe

Tench,

There was a guy on the intel thread compalining that he couldn't find a cumine 650 anywhere.

He was not a droid as you like to call 'em.

Stop weaseling about the facts.

Intel may be yielding GREAT at 450-550 Mhz.

They are yielding piss poor at 800Mhz and above.

Intel is behind AMD in speeds PERIOD.

And the gap is about to EXPLODE with copper AThlons parts from AMD coupled with integrated cache.

Intel will soon be relegated to competing with VIA for the low end if they don't get their act together.

These FACTS have convinced AMD HATERS like Paul, idiot Elmer , as well as more rational intel folks like Corey, PB and even you to go LONG on AMD.

regards,

Kash

Come on, Kash. Just because AMD is flying high doesn't mean you should be accusing Intel of lying about yields.

Tenchusatsu,

Hopefully this issue will be cleared up in the next two weeks.

Ten,

Let me try to talk in "Intel speak."

Yields are great. Binsplits are not competitive with AMD. This is easy to prove. PIII 1GHz is an overclocked part, which requires an out of normal range operating temperature, and does not function properly in an MP environment.
