As for being an expert in planets, well, I'm more often accused of having my head in the clouds, than in outer space. I know one thing, you have to be careful when discussing these issues. About 12 years ago a guy I know on TV was asked something about a discovery with Uranus. The anchor also added the question "and why did they change the pronunciation from what I learned in grade school" His reply was (I'm paraphrasing slightly) "Because astronomers were embarrassed to say they had discovered 'rings around Yer-anus'. They would much rather say 'rings around Yer-ah-nus' ". Not long after that he was let go. So, I try to refrain from talking about planets, erupting hot spots, black holes, etc. <vbg>
