Alright, I'll bite. I am perfectly happy paying my fair share of taxes and, I believe, so is just about everyone. I mean, the country can't run on good intentions.

BTW, it isn't federal taxes that are killing me. It's state and local property, sales, income, special, ad valorum, value added, etc etc taxes that get where it hurts. Cities and State have uncovered the magical key to taxing the hell out of us, sales taxes and property taxes. "Come on, it's only 0.5% more in sales tax you won't even notice" or "we won't ever raise your prop taxes again, just give us this one increase". Blah Blah Blah. It's BS.

Here's a short list of my 'fiscal' conservative views.

I am against waste, for a fair tax system, against borrowing against my heirs futures, against taking unreasonable risks in the name of getting votes, against supporting able bodied people becuase they haven't found the ambition to work, for good educations, against the belief that throwing money at a problem will fix it, against developing an aristocratic society, against developing a welfare state.

The key is balance and not spending all this goddam money all the frickin time. <g>
