Gottfried- Thanks for refreshing my memory. 8 down quarters out of ten. Even monopolists can stumble big. Now if Microsoft management were misjudging the marketplace would we see history repeat itself? Last quarter's earnings were criticized as being too bookish and the stock dropped from 115 to 107. Comments from Connors didn't help either.

Anti-trust is another problem for itself but also reveals some weaknesses in managements judgement. Instead of mugging Netscape management should have been focusing on AOL, Yahoo and EBay. What did Microsoft get? Expedia, MSN as another give away for free candidate and real life Court-TV.

I'm not trying to bash, just wondering if there is a fundamental Microsoft change in the making. IBM made a great two year, no fret, short. Wish I would have thought about it at the time.
