Headline: High Speed Access Corp. Launches High-Speed Data Services in Additional 300,000 Homes Passed in 13 Cable Systems

================================================================
DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2000--

HSA Now Deployed in 137 Communities With 7.5 Million Homes
Under Contract or LOI

High Speed Access Corp. (HSA), a leading provider of high-speed
Internet access via cable modems to residential and commercial
subscribers, today announced the deployment of 13 new communities,
adding over 300,000 homes passed to its national footprint.
HSA's most recent deployments include Charter Communications
cable systems in Birmingham, Ala., Hickory, N.C., Vincennes, Ind. and
Stevens Point, Wis. Additional systems, launched in seven states, were
deployed for Classic Cable, Small Town Cable, Wyandotte Municipal
Cable, Krause Cable, Haefele TV and Harlan Community TV.
"Strong consumer demand for high-speed broadband services
continues to drive the pace of our cable system deployments all over
the country," said Dan O'Brien, President and CEO of HSA. "Our rapid
deployment in these largely underserved markets is not only a
competitive advantage for HSA and our cable partners, but also creates
an opportunity to roll out additional broadband services such as
commercial applications and Internet telephony. We are also especially
excited about our launch in Birmingham, Alabama, serving over 106,000
homes passed that is now one of HSA's largest markets."
The deployments on Charter Communications systems represent some
of the first markets encompassed under a new agreement recently
reached between Charter and HSA. Charter has contracted with HSA for
the deployment of five million additional Charter homes in scores of
markets across the country. This brings HSA's homes under contract or
letter of intent to approximately 7.5 million homes, with over 45
cable partners. HSA plans to deploy at least two million additional
homes over the next eight months, which would drive high-speed
deployments to more than four million total homes passed by year-end
2000.
