I don't oppose regulation. I do believe that identity, purity and dosage of the intoxicant should be strictly watched. (The psychedelics in particular have STEEP dose-response curves!) What I oppose are bans and criminalization of possession. There is a great deal of regulatory room between no controls at all and outright prohibition. Alcohol is a decent model here ... it's universally available and universally regulated. (In Eurpoe, there's no annoying 21 year age limit for beer and wine. A teenager can have a Royale with Cheese and a beer chez McD's.) Tobacco was a good model until the recent wave of punitive taxes. Rotten revenooer bandits.
