The earnings conference call is key !!!

Current broker analyst's forecasts are speculation.

If a few additional big orders closed in the past quarter, PMTC might have rallied instead of plunging.

This is not a quarter; this is two quarters, so we are halfway through the fiscal year already with plenty to go on to forecast. Admittedly, large deals can close at any time, but clearly the company is having some trouble closing these large deals.

Meanwhile, PMTC has lost good MCAD salespeople while it has been trying to reinvent itself through Windchill. Losing the very people you need to revitalize your basic business is no joke and takes time to turn around.

If you can't forecast revenue and earnings, how do you value a stock and decide whether it is cheap or overpriced? It takes more than tea leaves or the pit of your stomach to determine whether a stock is attractive for purchase or not.
