More about GMPCS

Home page:
gmpcs-us.com
Company Profile:
gmpcs-us.com
says in part:"The Company has a very
strong position in the International business community, energy, media, government and
other mobile markets in the United States and Latin America. The Company currently
has more than twenty (20) active dealer networks in Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras,
Costa Rica, Panama, Venezuela, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, the
Caribbean, and United States. "

These guys, while no Airtouch, seem to be a very credible force in the niche MSS market. I'd guess "very busy" means for them around 50 net adds per day. "beeperdude" on the Yahoo thread knows, but he's not telling.

RS, thanks very much. That brings up a question, though - how can GMPCS be selling something and "eating the competitions's lunch"? IOW, does the price of the phone/air time vary from distributor to distributor?

If so, then yes, things make sense to me, and G* needs more distributors like GMPCS.

I'm very interested in your answer, and thanks again.

Best,
JKS

<I think Maurice was talking about the phone, and, especially, airtime prices...not the stock price.> No, I was talking about the company and the stock price! See previous post. Sorry about the confusion.

Also, GMPCS operates under the direction of Vodafone/Airtouch. Vodafone has exclusive rights to marketing in the USA and sets the minute prices. Distributors have limited ranges to move. GMPCS can't set prices independently with Globalstar LP.

I suspect the limitation will quickly be handset availability since production has not been increased and there is no news of big orders.
