Re: Tomorrow may be a key day for a possible reversal pattern.
Or we could go up for another day or two...
I use many indicators, some confirm others...
To keep it simple...set your Bollinger Bands to 90,3.
Once the price begins to penetrate the upper band some kind of correction is usually in the cards soon. Again, can be short term...

Jim and other chart guys,
How do you factor in that AMd reports earnings in 4 trading days? How does a chart factor in all of the good news from the last few days, not to mention all of the upgrades we should see next week? What does the chart say about AMD being seriously undervalued at $10 billion with Y2K estimates compared to other techs?

I'm not a chart guy at all, I think charts have become somewhat irrelevant in today trading. There's too much irrational stuff going on. CSCO, YHOO, and ORCL can earn pennies a quarter but still continue to get upgrades when they are already seriously overvalued.

I still don't mind reading your chart analysis, I find it interesting, and helpful to a certain point (I like to know what others are thinking).

Jim, I don't use the Bollinger Bands, but I use something I believe is similar. It moved up to that point at 74 1/2 today and that is why in an earlier post I said I almost sold my April 60's this morning. The thing with this gauge that I use, I have seen numerous stocks come up to this line and hug it to much higher levels (possibly spiking temporarily above this line if earnings are terrific). This line is accelerating to the upside so that now three or four point moves can be accommodated. Usually in a strong moving stock like this, I like to see a spike well above that line, before I consider it extremely overbought. That's just my .02 anyway.

Thanks for sharing your opinions. I'm pulling for some more BAM BAM soon.

Re"I really wish I hadn't said anything"

Jim,

Well since you did, what would your moves be over the next couple of days. Should I put in a stop on my long position for protection? Should I sell or exercise my April 42.5
(jeez I wish I had loaded up on those). I want to remain long AMD as I feel like many others do that mid term prospects are great. 2nd Qtr does have me a little nervous. If we're looking at a 10 to 20 point correction I would like to play the dip. If only a couple of points I would ride it out.

I'm open to anyone's suggestions on how to play this out.

To complicate matters I'll be in MCO playing golf when earnings are announced. Can't do much with a 5 iron and no Web connection.

TIA
