I've just gotten interested in them, too. They're NTT Mobile Communications Network Inc., or "DoCoMo".

A good place to start a search is:
google.com

I'm not sure yet if this is their protocol, but it's an excellent source:
mobilegprs.com

Also, a good site for WAP info:
wapforum.org

I think this is an excellent line of future research!

Nuc,
As Chip pointed out, the Japanese company is DoCoMe, which is the wireless arm of NTT. Not only does DoCoMe, but NOK and MSFT will roll out their mini-browsers NEXT YEAR, competing directly with PHCM. So why still invest in PHCM? One thing - head start. Right now they dominate globally with their Up browser. Does Netscape sound familiar to you? The key difference is PHCM has the benefit to learn from Netscape's mistake. That's why their business model is really not that of Netscape, but of a mix of AOL and YAHOO. Being first and most dominant in the WAP space right now, they are making alliances all over the world as agressive as Yahoo, making sure they get their toe into as many places as possible. Will it survive beyond next year? I personally don't think so - but because they will be acquired rather than being outcompeted. Being first is worth so much that the likes of MOT, ERICY, AOL or even MSFT may want to acquire them. Hope this helps.
