fftrader.. that sounds like one interesting life. Herein lies the difference however. I do my own investments but as the cash accumulates I will probably buy more funds but I'll never hire a money manager. You sound like you are a few years ahead of most traders in that you've reached some kind of goal already. Most of our traders are still climbing up the ladder and have not reached the pinnacle. I could do what you are doing now but I've got different goals at this point. I love flyfishing and although I've never been to any of those places, permit me to say my friends have not reached that goal yet either. Even though they might be doing exceedingly well they are still in their professions or just enjoying trading. You are in the minority and of course you can't be bothered with trading, you are too busy enjoying the fruits of your past labors. Somewhere along the line you were either a professional, skilled entrepreneur or inherited a fortune, or made a killing in the market ;-) That is fine, but others are still making their fortune.
