Cirruslvr,

I had a feeling Sanders was still sand-bagging a few days ago. I simply cannot wait to hear the good news on Wednesday evening. His comments in the NBR interview may push AMD higher tomorrow. Until I saw this, I thought we would see a pullback tomorrow.

Pravin.

I don't think this has been posted yet. Here is a link to a few slides from Jerry's presentation in Japan the other day - watch.impress.co.jp

AMD now has its strongest presence in Japan compared to the past 7 months. The notebook retail numbers look like what AMD's numbers in the US did when they began to take over retail.

<He only mentioned Intel once, not bad for Jerry. ;) >

Good observation!

Success breeds confidence - something that is oozing out of Jerry in this interview. Also, Jerry's mention of how he has been slowly guiding up is something we all have known very well and shows certain learning that seems to have happened since Q4 :-)

Cirruslvr...I watch nbr frequently, and wouldn't you know I worked late tonight. Good stuff. I particularly like this part...

SANDERS: Well, I think it's pretty straightforward. Actually, we've tried to give some guidance. We've said that we expected to be solidly profitable in Q1. We're focused on processors, which tend to be seasonal. So we had a great quarter in Q4 of last year. We had record sales and we expected that Q1's processor sales would be at best modestly down. Athlon, our new processor, has been so well received that now things are looking up. So we've gone from modestly down to nominally up to moderately up. So hopefully by the time we actually report, we'll have something even more positive to say.

<<I still think $1.00 is not out of the question.>>
