Chris, Christianity, by itself, bears no blame but, many groups, who have claimed to be Christian, have committed atrocities against others throughout a large portion of history. We all know that Hitler was not really a Christian but, he said he was. The perpetrators of the Spanish Inquisition insisted that they did what they did in the name of Christianity. The Conquistadors enslaved, and murdered, indians because they would not follow the teachings of the monks. There are many other examples of this in history which I consider to be a tragedy. These people did not behave in the way the Bible tells us Jesus would have us behave, but at the time, the victims of these atrocities didn't know that. The bad reputation such people have foisted upon Christianity is, unfortunately, a cross that true Christians must bear. ~H~
