<Do you see my point? >

Upto a point....

<Aren't you guilty to some of these sins?>

Yes, I am.

< Do you want me to go on and on?>

At your age, I am sure you could. Feel free.

<Why should computers be so different than any other thing that us consumers indulge in?>

Because a high-end computer depreciates faster than any other big ticket item that most consumers buy.

chic,

A $70,000 house with 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom is all you need. Then, why do people continue to build/buy $250,000 houses?

$200,000K will get you a nice doublewide in the Valley. Too bad you need some land to park it on. That will cost another $200,000 in a cheesy part of town.

Chic Re...<<<<A 1995 Honda Accord with 100,000 miles is all you need. It gets you to point B from point A just as good as any other car. Then, why do people buy Mercedes, BMW, Cadalac, etc? <<<

Chic,,, because the latter are babe magnets!!!!

Chic, because they are babe magnets.

A $20 pair of jeans gets the job done. Then, why do people continue to buy designer jeans for $80?

Because they are babe magnets.

A 15 inch TV is all you need. Then, why do people continue to buy 27 inch, 32 inch, 35 inch, 52 inch, etc TV's?

Let me guess. Because they are babe magnets.

You can buy a used couch for your living room for $100. Then, why do people continue to pay $1000 for a couch for their living room?

What kind of quiz is this? The answers are all the same. They all are babe magnets.

Do you see my point? Aren't you guilty to some of these sins? Do you want me to go on and on?

Chic; being a dirty old man, of course I am; but isn't a little sin now and then wonderful?

The San Jose Mercury News recently had an article on the lowest price house listed for sale in Palo Alto. It was 1 bedroom, 792 square feet for $406,000.

Housing is less expensive as you proceed South on the Peninsula. But your 3 bedroom will be over $350K, a 45 min commute from Palo Alto.

chic,

I don't think pc's have quite the consumer appeal that an Accord or a tv or jeans has......I think pc's are still considered the purview of geeks or a work necessity, and not necessarily a status symbol.
