I've read about MRAM in the past but I don't know how far along their memory sizes are, what it costs, if they are just experimenting with it yet, how it differs, power requirements, etc.

Besides MRAM there is another form of memory being made by a company with the ticker ENER. I read about them on the SI Ramtron board.
Again, same problem. There just isn't enough information available yet to really get a good sense of who the leaders are and will remain.

I'll see what I can find, if I ever get the time.
The Yahoo Ramtron board has info passed on their about new forms of RAM occasionally. The news story you referred to may have been linked over there.

I guess I could use a few FRAM chips to help me remember this stuff better...
