sb, NTAP's solution does not require a great deal of consulting support. It's very simple to implement.

No, EMC did not win this one, imo. Basically, what ORCL has done is position EMC at the high, complex implementation end with the "ECO" deal, and positioned NTAP at the lower end with the appliance approach.

There is not a lot of work for a firm like KPMG to implement NTAP filers.

FWIW, on Apr 7, briefing.com added NTAP to its "core portfolio." The only thing they say about NTAP: NTAP is a leading player in the fast storage industry.

Usually their picks are pretty well reasoned and well explained. I applaud their picking NTAP, but it seems that they're not quite sure what the company does.
