We have so many new folks on the thread: Every once in a while I will be re-posting "Voltaire's Strategy 101" as in the previous post.

It is helping a lot of people and has kept a lot of questions down.

Dealer, et all,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I hated to just post and run but Mrs. Sting was blowing in my ear. We had just returned from dinner at her favorite restaurant in celebration of our 42nd anniversary. She is a South Georgia lady (3 miles north of the Fla. line) and a real Southern Belle. I am still a little awed that she would run off to see the world with this half-civilized Oklahoma indian (southern Oklahoma, that is).

I am in a wait-state right now concerning investing. I have two self-directed IRAs (small tax dodges) in two different local banks that I am consolidating into one IRA with USAA, so I can trade on-line. They said the paperwork could take several weeks. I have some QCOM, SDLI, HLIT, and BVSN and figure they will regain some value while the paperwork goes through, but I am anxious to get started implementing Voltaire's CC 101 course. If all goes well with the small test fund I will know what to do with the CREF funds when retirement rolls around.

As I recall from grad school, the economy follows the stock market with a six month delay. what can we expect the economy to do six months from now?

Coonaz, Not that kind of sting. We used to have one Louisiana coon-ass and several texans in the squadron. The texans were always giving the coon-ass a hard time. One day the coon-ass asked the texans if they knew the difference between a coon-ass and a son of a bitch. They couldn't come up with an answer and he told them 'the Sabine river.'
