Some highlights from today's list..but our highlight of the week were still AMAT leading to the 1-4 day holds from the earnings plays that are in the intro below. Others include CREE, EMLX and TXCC. Not many daytrades this week except for the biotech sector. Still bullish on ABSC.. GENE and GENXY.. The short on YHOO went well. <<IONA>> <<SMMX>> and <<APEX>> looked like more than daytrades and if all goes well can be holds indefinitely. From the earnings plays newsletter <<TER>> and <<VTSS>> have broken out on good news for the growth prospects of the sector. Out intermediate plays from last quarters are back in the portfolio with <<PHTN>>, <<FLEX>> <<TLGD>>, <<FLSH>>, <<BCE>>, <<BRKS>> and of course <<ELNT>> showing up very strongly yet another session. ELNT has about 38% price growth in 2 days and the others have double digit increases as well. <<PWAV>>and <<RIMM>> broke out nicely today and <<AMAT>> had yet another good day although it looks a little weary. Note that I never did call #2 or #1 because although they were up at the open I noted by 9:50 they were already well off the opening highs. but like #10 ALTR and #4 TERN from yesterday's list, both these stocks are hot to trot.. Give them another day. You should wait about 3 10-minute bars to see stock trades down from their highs. I wait 3 5-minute bars for earnings plays because I've done it for 16 seasons so I'm kind of used to it. #8 COGN, was too late it just gapped up too high, after a triple top breakout and such good earnings it was inevitable. 5> ITXC - ITXC CORP .DSE Price= 55.1 VL/30= 134.1 %Rnge= 96.0 Sto9V= 52.2 W14dV= 44.0 %Hi4 = 63.9 1-Dy = 127.4 50MA = 68.7 21MA = 88.9 ......The major telcoms are already scrambling to catch up with the Voice over IP leaders. Last week, Yahoo (Nasdaq:YHOO) and an AT&T (NYSE:T) led consortium announced investments of $1.4 billion in Net2Phone (Nasdaq:NTOP), taking a 32 percent stake in the young VoIP company. Net2Phone currently handles roughly 40 percent of all phone calls routed over the Internet. Other promising VoIP companies include ITXC Corp (Nasdaq:ITXC), Tekelec (Nasdaq:TKLC), Network Plus (Nasdaq:NPLS) and VocalTec (Nasdaq:VOCL). Technicals: Bullish gap and another shaven head with prices closing almost at highs of the day. 6> MMP - MAXIM PHARMACEUTICALS INC COM PAR .DBI Price= 54.3 VL/30= 89.4 %Rnge= 100.0 Sto9V= 65.8 W14dV= 51.1 %Hi4 = 69.5 1-Dy = 115.4 50MA = 97.1 21MA = 100.5 Expected to present at hepatitis convention on April 12. Stochastics breakout Even ITWO was not a buy right away. 11> ITWO - I2 TECHNOLOGIES INC .DSO Price= 122.8 VL/30= 93.6 %Rnge= 78.0 Sto9V= 26.8 W14dV= 43.0 %Hi4 = 59.0 1-Dy = 116.9 50MA = 83.0 21MA = 78.6 4/06/00 - i2 and Net Perceptions Announce Product Integration and Reseller Relationship Combined Solution to Offer Sophisticated Behavior-Based Segmentation and Profiling Through the Use of Realtime Data Analytics I would have gotten in at about 126 but the point is that if you waited only 3 5 minute bars, knew the background of ITWO, knew the fact that it was a top stock that sold off, that it had a great close yesterday you might have entered at the bounce off the 20 period moving average. Its not hindsight its common sense with a great company like ITWO.
