The government exists to keep the majority of the population happy and content. The plunge protection team exists beyond a shadow of a doubt, and as tuesday showed us all- large drops simply will not be allowed. And last but not least, the fed has been dropping around 3 billion dollars into the market EACH AND EVERY DAY since y2k, when they said publicly they would stop after y2k turned out to be a non-event. They refuse to state why they are still pouring the money in, and in fact greenspan dodged the question when asked directly by a member of congress. he replied "it's hard to define what money is." I don't care how hard it is to define- that old bastard has been pouring around 3 billion of "it" per day into the market. In short, this administration and fed governing body has SHOWN BY THEIR ACTIONS that they will do absolutely anything and everything in their power to keep this bubble alive, and in fact to inflate it even further. How long do they intend to keep it going? 1 year? 5 years? Look at it this way- every single day they keep it alive is one day more that they don't have to face the consequences of the collapse of our economic system and riots in the streets ala indonesia and albania. They've already destroyed our economy, they are just hiding the fact from the population day by day. Until then, however, stocks are a NO RISK INVESTMENT. Especially investing in the stocks that the majority of the population is invested in- namely MOMENTUM BIG CAP TECHNOLOGY.
