Thanks Dave. I do have a question for you and others who are more experienced than I with credit spreads. It regards entry into the trade.

From my limited experience, there seem to be a few ways to approach it.

1. Simply enter a market order for each leg based on current bid/ask. So far my broker (Brown) has been good at filling at listed prices.
2. Enter a limit order specifying the amount of the spread. For some reason the couple of times I've gone this route I haven't gotten filled. Floor traders are under no obligation to fill limit orders.
3. Leg into the spread, first opening the short or long position. Then open the other leg based on how price moves during the trade day.

I hope this question sparks some response, because I would enjoy hearing how others approach entry.
