Buy and hold (for a while) <G>

I think everyone is expecting a retest of the Tuesday low, everyone is worried that we're
gonna drop another 500 points a day again. Well, when everyone is thinking the same thing,
you must go the other way.

Sonny,

I believe you have got it. I have sold often to keep margin low but missed a lot of upside that way. I may add on Monday and just let it ride.

Sonny: <when everyone is thinking the same thing, you must go the other way> Maybe the retest will be the old highs. I think you hit it right on.

There was no retest of the Oct 87 low after the 23% drop. Ever. I think Tuesday's situation was similar, just in internet time. Tech's will be reporting 50% earning growth over the next two weeks, and I think we'll see 5000 again very soon.

JMHO.

I think the earnings season are providing the pops in these
stocks right now. At present most of these stocks are broken and there are no low risk entry points. The only exception is probably the semi/semiequipment sectors which didn't suffer as much carnage asthe other sectors. The biotechs moved down today, the banks were down, the rally in the NAZ was great but it could have had more volume. I don't think we are out of the woods yet.

Sonny,

With the NAS bouncing back near 4500, I would like to see some consolidation here, a pause before heading higher.

I expected more volume today...

Mike

Judging from the posts on this board and the action today, you have it entirely backwards. Everyone is buying, thus going the other way is to sell.
