Living without attachment might have aesthetic or "esthetic allure", but can get very lonely and pointless.

A Web 'search' turned up 'Esthete in the Bronx'.
hcs.harvard.edu

Then there is Barbie-Beauty at the Palm Beach Esthetic Center:
palmbeachcosmetic.com
[Liposuction...yummy...]
Then again, I have a few defects I'd be happy to have removed.

How about beauty in the mind?http://www.aestheticrealism.org/

A wireless phone is quite benign by comparison. Unattached WWeb is fine by me.

This makes me feel sick. Judge Jackson and the loonies are on the rampage. They have no reason not to abuse their monopoly power because the politicians are lead by the nose by an avaricious, atavistic, cargo-cult population who have almost no idea what creates value in the world.

QUALCOMM will feel the taste of the whip. Message 13388004

There is a technological and marketing battle underway, but the political ideologues are the dangerous people.
Message 13389904

We have seen huge numbers of comments to the effect that QUALCOMM is greedy, using their patents to overcharge licensees. We have seen suggestions by the hundred that royalties should be related to the cost of production. Some minor engineering fee, plus 10% is what they have in mind I suppose.

We see QUALCOMM bundling patents, giving away use of other patents, which is illegal in the modern definition of monopoly bundling. Microsoft bundled Explorer, but that was illegal according to the Janet, Joel and Jackson Klan.

We see QUALCOMM leveraging one monopoly into other monopolies, and, believe it or not, damaging consumers by charging them more than a cost plus price for the services of the QUALCOMM engineers.

I'm going out to the sun and lunch now. More rant later.

$ill Gates will not lose! Just figure out what he will do. It could be very, very icky. He is confronting rather than prostrating himself in front of the bullies. He is taking it to the Supreme Court to see whether the USA is serious in the judicial intent of Jackson and the Presidential politicians.

Jackson and co will work out some suitable punishment. Careful you bullies! $ill Gates might work out some suitable punishment too. For example, if the Supreme court agrees with Jackson, then what would happen if $ill Gates sold ALL his Microsoft shares, resigned his position, sold all his US$ which he got from the sale of stock and moved himself out of range of the USA.

I think there might be a serious stockmarket decline. I'd have already sold all my QUALCOMM. I'll sell everything the minute the Supreme Court backs Jackson.
