Newbridge to OEM Ditech's Echo Cancellation Products for Voice Over Packet
Networks

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Newbridge Networks (NYSE: NN - news;
Toronto: NNC - news), a leading global provider of managed network solutions, and Ditech Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: DITC -
news), a leading provider of voice and data communications products, today announced the signing of a volume purchasing agreement. Under the
terms of the agreement, Ditech will supply Newbridge with Ditech's suite of echo canceller products for OEM distribution in international
markets.

``Delivering the best voice quality is an absolute requirement for building the emerging converged network,' said Tim Montgomery, Ditech's
President and CEO. ``When voice is packetized for transport in a data-type network, routing delays exacerbate the negative effects of echo which
are present in every telephone call. Our technology features the most sophisticated handling of network delay and echo in the market, and we're
very proud that Newbridge Networks has selected us as its partner.'

``Our narrowband and broadband networking solutions provide the key integration and switching functionality that allow our customers to
implement all their voice and data services on a single, more cost-effective network,' said Ed Ogonek, Newbridge's Executive Vice President,
Switching and Routing Products Group. ``We selected Ditech as our partner because its products offer advanced technology to cancel echo
problems in circuit-based or packetized networks as well as providing us with real-time monitoring tools so we can ensure the best voice quality to
our customers.'

Ditech Communications Corporation

Ditech Communications Corporation is a global telecommunications equipment supplier for voice and data networks. Ditech's voice products are
high-capacity echo cancellers which utilize advanced software and digital signal processor (DSP) technology. This unique combination of
software and hardware allows Ditech to deliver Voice Quality of Service (VQoS(TM)), a robust and cost-effective solution for voice enhancement
and echo cancellation. Ditech's products for data networks provide building blocks for high-speed, high-capacity backbone networks. These
products are based on wavelength division multiplexing (WDM), a technology that enables many wavelengths of light, each carrying multiple
gigabits of information, to be carried on one fiber optic connection. With Ditech's WDM products, network equipment companies and service
providers can quickly and cost-effectively expand their network capacity to meet the growing demands of the Internet age without incurring the
vast time and expense of laying new fiber optic cable. Ditech (DITC) is listed on the Nasdaq National Market and is headquartered in Mountain
View, California (Web site: ditechcom.com ).
