Jenna I wasn't advocating shorting ADBE...I just was marveling. (Is that a word? :o) I am still holding from 60.

I have found that I have problems seeing uptrends on a stock. Some kind of visual thingy. But I can do the shorty shorts especially if I know you are there too. For some reason I can see down but not up on a chart. I am still trying to figure this out.

Hi Jenna,

Just checking out your thread as usual..

""AFFX, okay it went down but bounced up like a spalding ball. Should I have covered, shorted till the death, held the short through the recuperation??? At this point AFFX looks to be pretty well off days lows""

I bought some AFFX today at 125 and change, when I heard more about the ruling..I guess that is what makes a market

Have a friend in the industry and has have been in since 35.OO. or so.. She is a believer.. My first go at it.

good luck in your picks.. coug

Hey Jenna - it's great seeing you playing it both ways...you're probably much smarter than other shorts in that you play the short "overly cautious" which to me makes sense because it's do darn high-risk...that's why I don't short any stocks, it scares me.

However, I'd like to throw something out to the thread and that's simply how does one deal with a "buddy" trader who all of a sudden posts they are going short (especially a trader you respect) ...well, as for me I begin to shudder in in boots...like when Bob went short PLUG and I posted I was long (he very sweetfully agreed to cover, just for me ..<ggg>

..the point being, I would guess that 75% of the our lurkers, whether they be current Gemmers or not, are novices (with heart and limited trading dollars) and so when one day we post "going long" and a few days later we post "going short", man...given the OLB turtle-pace trade execution, I wonder if that puts the newer traders through undue stress and dire disadvantage...

..not sure how to overcome this, but I often wonder how a "family" thread (ok, each does his/her own DD) can somehow work more "cohesively" together for the profitability of all..

off the wall?
