Doug,

I haven't been using Opera much, opting for Netscape and Lynx. Lynx is text-only and is blindingly fast for browsing and the technological equivalent of purgatory for posting. Yup, Lynx works on SI. (Thanx, GNET!)

lynx.browser.org

I still have mine trusty ol' 386 with Windows 3.1 and DR-DOS, but upgraded a while back to a K6 laptop with WIN98 and use it almost exclusively. My reason for posting the question to which you responded was that Win32 rendered my 386 quite unstable and Opera ran markedly slower than did Netscape 2.2 on the 386.

I still regard Opera as one great browser and plan to download the "final beta" (? an oxymoron) and try it.
