what is the big deal
Surely you aren't taking LT's posting seriously. If he had really shorted as he has claimed over the years he would have had to own a Rockefeller's fortune just to afford the electric bill for his computer. Can you say "BlowHard".

Drew,

I too have had good results from selling puts. The indicators that I look for are some of the ones we had this week. It was a great time for selling puts once the recovery kicked in. I look for a strong stock that due to random bad luck, or something out of its control is beaten down. Then I sell puts just out of the money and watch them (hopefully) shrink to zero by strike day. You have to evaluate the risks. And,like you said, being forced to buy Dell at 46 3/4 doesn't seem to be a big risk, at this time.

BTW, do you think that the DELL train is going to pass the GTW train? They have been neck and neck for the past few weeks! Dell, coming up from the deep dark depths and GTW somewhat weakened and nursing a few stabs wounds from some analysts. The difference is that DELL would be charting new territory if it breaks out, whereas GTW has already made a path to $82 before. Interesting, eh?
