That ought to settle it for the non believers.

Really, JD? It doesn't settle it for me. I remain a non-believer until machines are shipping. I find it unfortunate that Sun has to follow Microsoft's model of announcing a product years in advance and then, as the ship date recedes like a mirage in the desert, issue a stream of press releases about how we're not going to ship it "till it's really ready".

We certainly don't want Sun using anything Microsoft does as an example, least of all the W2K release, which was the most embarrassing multi-year major-product foul-up in the history of commercial computing.

Ultra-Sparc 3 is late and I as a shareholder hope that management is busting their asses to get it out the door. I will be of that opinion until machines are shipping, regardless of how many trees they kill to make press packets. What does belief have to do with it?
